I'm a retired wish-I-was, with regard to sailing. I did some in my high-school years, but married a man who gets sea-sick in the shower, so had to relinquish that dream. But, having read your blog from the beginning to this point over the last few days, I wanted to tell you, especially here where you are reflecting on blogging, that out of the dozen or so that I read regularly, the quality of your writing is far and above the rest. Not only for the subject matter, which is excellent, but you also choose the right words, and spell them the right way. You set a standard for blog writing that is equal to Drake Robertson's Paragon sailing videos. Please, don't stop. You are needed to give yourself expression and others a standard for which to reach. You have illustrated perfectly why I write and precisely how I feel about commercializing (not my cup of tea) and the reasons why I write. Having entered this really weird state of flux and needing to back off the blogging a bit, you have reassured me that writing is a worthy exercise in and of itself. Thanks again! The Ceol Morshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16716515081322012615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571147692199175550.post-79329937277221858042013-12-15T18:36:05.734-07:002013-12-15T18:36:05.734-07:00I love reading your blog, and adventures your fami...I love reading your blog, and adventures your family take. How were other people doing it? What was the scariest thing of all? How much experience did people have? What are things I haven't thought of that will bite us in the butt down the road? I began our blog as a chore - a dutiful chore. My early entries are quite boring and I go back and grimace and shake my head. "Who cares?? Why did I write that??? Zzzz!!!!" But I have come to enjoy it - I find it fun and now I do it because I like to do it. And our daughter, who doesn't want to write a blog - has taken up writing fiction... and she is quite good!!<br />hotspurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06610311943983760348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571147692199175550.post-79653807956231291142013-12-12T14:47:38.790-07:002013-12-12T14:47:38.790-07:00Well said (written), Michael. Though I may fancy myself a Tom Neale-type hermit and an introvert, there's no denying that we humans are social creatures. For some, verbal conversation and chatter answers the call. For others, writing and reading are our preferred means of socialization.SailFarLiveFreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12874321318453218893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571147692199175550.post-11646578364822726362013-12-12T12:52:59.686-07:002013-12-12T12:52:59.686-07:00Your blog is an inspiration to those of us that do...Your blog is an inspiration to those of us that don't [yet] have the gonads to embrace the cruising life. keep writing!Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11990020844200667933noreply@blogger.com
